Peter Vincent has worked in television both as a writer and editor for a number of years.
He has written 69 episodes of comedy for the BBC including seven series of "Sorry" with Ian Davidson and episodes of ‘All at No. Twenty’ and ‘The Brittas Empire’ In addition there were two series of "Hilary" starring Marti Caine with co-writer, Peter Robinson. Also "Comrade Dad" (starring George Cole) with Ian Davidson and "Goodbye Mr. Kent" with Peter Robinson.
If one includes continental work he has had about 135 episodes of situation comedy transmitted so far. (including a 26 part series for Didi Hallervorden)
Peter Vincent wrote for twelve series of "The Two Ronnies" and was script editor for some of these. He was Dave Allen's script editor for some twenty years. He was also script editor with Barry Cryer on the BBC's Russ Abbot show.
He has, over the years, worked with Frankie Howerd, Tommy Cooper, Bob Monkhouse, Bruce Forsyth, Harry Secombe (Pye TV Award), David Frost (Golden Rose) Cliff Richard, Les Dawson and Michael Parkinson etc. He has written plays with David Nobbs, John Chapman and Barry Cryer.
A play, "Love on All Floors" co-written with the late John Chapman has been performed in Germany for a number of years. A more serious play "Naked though The Nettles". Has received several readings, directed by Patrick Garland. Two light operettas "The Impressario" and "Rita" have recently been staged at the Jermyn St Theatre. Musical pieces such as "The Vampire Strikes Back" have been succesful on the continent.
Publications include "The Two Ronnies Sketch Book" (editor), a very successful series of small books of Two Ronnies News Items and "The Russ Abbot Fun Book" (editor)
Peter Vincent is Currently recording the fourth series of ’When the Dog Dies’ a radio comedy starring Ronnie Corbett, co-written with Ian Davidson. On the plus side Peter has enthusiastically entered the writing competitions of Player Playwrights and has come last and last but one but hopes eventually to be last but two.
